This non-GMO popcorn will become your new favorite. The taste is addictive and light, but the best part is how it's made. Uniquely, Bjorn Qorn is solar-powered. They use reflectors to absorb the energy of the sun's rays and use this energy to cook and pop the kettles in Minnesota and Hudson Valley, New York. They now make a variation called Cloudy Popcorn too, which, as the name suggests, is even crispier as it's slow-cooked in cloudy weather. Bjorn Qorn's other ingredients are also sustainable. Rather than using palm oil, a forest and biodiversity destroyer, they use safflower and sunflower oils. Also, even though the classic popcorn tastes cheesy, it is all vegan and the flavor is from nutritional yeast instead of dairy.
Ice Creams made from vegetables and fruits have become more popular from Cado, an avocado-based ice cream company, to this company, Eat Kinda, making ice cream from cauliflower. Eat Kinda transforms the supermarket-neglected cauliflowers (the cauliflowers that would have gone to waste because of a surplus or if they did not look perfect) into ice cream. The ice cream has no gluten, soy, or dairy and has biodegradable, compostable containers. Although they only sell in New Zealand, they are looking to expand overseas soon and the reviews say it's very creamy and yummy. If you're in New Zealand, you should try it, but if you're not, take Eat Kinda as just one example of the many new delicious plant-based creations available.
