Joe & The Juice is the best place to get a juice, coffee, or quick bite to eat. With multiple locations all over the world from Los Angeles to New York to Copenhagen to London, Joe & the Juice offers healthy yet delicious fast casual options right near you. Here is a link to their website where you can find all of their cafes worldwide.
Started in Copenhagen, Denmark by Kaspar Basse, Joe & the Juice has grown immensely over the years. Cool, pink, organic, sustainable--- what's not to love? They are most well known for their juices, but their tunacado sandwich has become iconic.
I have tried not only the San Vicente and Melrose locations in Los Angeles, but also their Magasin du Nord location in Copenhagen. What is so special is that they have been able to maintain the same fresh flavors thousands of miles away.
My favorite smoothie they have is their Power Shake. It literally tastes like a strawberry milkshake, but is made with just strawberries, bananas, and vanilla milk. It is so smooth and perfectly sweet. I had this smoothie in both LA and Copenhagen and the main difference I noticed was the color with the LA one being a little lighter baby pink and the Copenhagen one being a slightly darker more vibrant pink. The taste was the same delightful taste.
For juices, my favorites include Joe's Identity for a green juice, but I like to add pineapple or apple to make it not too bitter. It is still so refreshing and will perk you up. I also love the Pick Me Up for a fruit juice. It is similar to the power shake, but has apple in it and is not as thick. Finally, the Prince of Green is a citrusy and enjoyable green juice. Their ginger and turmeric shots will also make your body feel a lot better.
Joe & the Juice's sandwiches are unique because of the bread they use. It's whole wheat bread and gives off pita bread/cracker energy. It's very thin and toasted panini style so that it is really crispy on the outside. My favorite one of their sandwiches is the avocado sandwich. It's kind of like a caprese because it contains tomatoes, mozarella, and pesto, but it also has avocado which makes everything better in my opinion. The tunacado sandwich, the sandwich that blew up across all social media platforms, is the other best sandwich. This one has fresh tuna, pesto, avocado, and tomatoes. It's not too fishy and is perfectly balanced. The extra thin crunchy bread compliments the soft tuna and avocado in this sandwich. I would give these sandwiches five stars.
Finally, I would like to give recommendations for their little bites. The size of all of these is perfect as they give you the perfect amount of sweet to satisfy your cravings without making you feel bad after eating them. Their chocolate brownie is pretty good, but the carrot cake is my fav as it feels very homemade, and I adore the cream cheese frosting.
In conclusion, I highly recommend finding your nearest Joe & the Juice immediately to try their juices and sandwiches. They have the cutest interiors with all of the coffee shop aesthetics (fun fact--- The background behind the counter in the San Vicente store is a picture of Nyhavn, the colorful canal in Copenhagen hinting at Joe & the Juice's roots) and a lively and fun community. This is my go-to spot for an easy and scrumptious lunch, and it will become yours too. Enjoy!
